Federal EV Rebates
Save Up to $5,000
On Your Next Electric Vehicle
Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) delivers a federal rebate directly off your purchase or lease price — no rebate cheques, applied right here at the dealership.
Incentives step down annually through 2031. $50,000 max transaction value (Canadian-made EVs exempt).
Until March 30, 2026: The permanent EVAP portal launches April 1, 2026. Dealerships use a temporary process in the interim — eligible transactions from February 16, 2026 onwards qualify. See the full process below →
How the Incentive Works
The rebate comes off your price at the dealership. Here’s what to expect from start to finish.
01
Choose Your EV
Browse eligible vehicles on the EVAP Vehicle List. Any new EV with a final transaction value under $50,000 may qualify — even models not on the published list.
02
Sign Consent Form
Complete the EVAP Consumer Consent Form electronically at our dealership. This authorizes your information to be shared with Transport Canada for eligibility verification.
03
Eligibility Confirmed
We submit an eligibility assessment on your behalf. Once approved, the incentive is applied directly to your bill of sale or lease agreement — clearly labelled as the EVAP rebate.
04
Drive Away & Save
You benefit from the incentive at the point of sale. We handle the reimbursement claim with Transport Canada — nothing more required from you.
Savings by Year
Incentives are highest in 2026 and step down gradually through 2031. The amount is locked to the date your eligibility assessment is submitted — not your delivery date.
| Vehicle Type | 2026 | 2027 | 2028 | 2029 | 2030–31 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
BEV / FCEV Battery & Fuel Cell Electric
|
$5,000 | $4,000 | $3,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 |
|
PHEV Plug-in Hybrid Electric
|
$2,500 | $2,000 | $1,500 | $1,500 | $1,000 |
* For leases, incentives are pro-rated: (full incentive ÷ 48) × lease months. Minimum 12-month term. A 24-month BEV lease in 2026 yields $2,500.
